I'm sad to say, I won't be going to hear Beth Moore in San Antonio tonight and tomorrow morning. Oh, it's not because I didn't buy a ticket. No, I did buy one for me and for three of my Bible study sisters. It's not because we didn't have a room reserved. No, we had a nice room for four reserved (thank you Bev).
I'm not going to be in San Antonio because my brother is turning 60 (that's another story for another day). His wife has planned a party for him and how could I possibly not be there.
But miss hearing Beth Moore.................whewwwwwww! That's a tough one. I'll miss being in the same building with at least 12,000 women (and a few men) praising God. There is nothing like it. The sound of those voices singing together gives one a glimpse of what heaven will be. Oh what a beautiful sound indeed. Great job by Travis Cottrell and his worship team. The spirit will definitely be in that place.
To be together with that many people under the same roof praising God, hearing His word, being as "one nation, under God" makes me think how wonderful it will be when we're sitting at His feet. How simple it seems, to be together as one.
So tonight I sit here knowing I'm missing something wonderful. I've been at Beth's conferences in Little Rock, Oklahoma City and Kansas City as well as a simulcast in Oklahoma City. I know God is being glorified by her teaching and His presence will be felt by every person there in the Alamodome in San Antonio. What an experience!
God bless each sister in Christ as they come together with our precious sister, Beth. I can't wait to hear all about it from those who traveled south to be there. For Bev, Marilyn and Kathy, this being your first conference I especially look forward to hearing from you.
To Valerie and Kristen sitting in the reserved "Siesta Fiesta" section, I can see the smiles and joy on your faces. There will be tons of stories from you two. :) Enjoy meeting all your blogging siestas.
God's blessings! :)

Hi,
My name is Teri and I know Valerie and Kristen through the Siesta blog.
I feel a sense of sadness that I too had to miss the San Antonio Siesta gathering and most importantly the words of GOD Sweet Mama Siesta Beth was going to give us!
I couldn't go and I was so tempted to feel like the stepsister who wasn't allowed to go to the ball
:-) BUT, I trust GOD and I know HIS will for my life and HIS children is perfect, so I last night I prayed again for all of them and refused to let the enemy make me feel like I was "left out".
In GOD'S family of believers that love and serve HIM - we are never left out.
I hope your brother has a wonderful birthday!
I know how you feel. I would love to be there as well..
Maybe, the Lord willing next time.
Blessing,
Teri
Hi, Teri. Thanks for your kind words.
Yes, it's rather hard not being at the conference this weekend but I'm so happy for those who were able to attend. What a blessing they'll receive.
We are blessed to have the Bible studies by Beth as well as her web site. How fortunate, for us, that God has chosen her to share His Word.
I enjoy your blog site. Thanks again for stopping by.
God's blessings to you. :)
Judy
I know that it must be hard not being able to go hear Beth Moore -- especially after you had already purchased your tickets and reserved your hotel room. I pray that the Lord will honor your sacrifice of wanting to be with your brother on his birthday by giving you a special blessing! I hope that he has a very happy 60th birthday!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your kind words. I hope that you will come back again soon.
Judy! I was so sad to hear you wouldn't be making it this weekend, but family is so important, so I understand your need to miss! Hope the b-day party was fun!
The event was awesome and I'm sure Val will be showing you some of the many pics she took! :) Thanks for thinking of us on our adventure!
(Congrats on your little GRANDSON!!! YAY! Have they picked out any names?)
Hey, Kristen
I'm so glad you and your mom are back home safe and sound. I know you both had a great time. :)
No name yet for our little guy. I'll keep you posted.
Hey Judy!
I was so excited to hear the news that T & K are having a boy. Now, let the shopping begin. ;)
I felt so bad for you that you had your ticket and room and then couldn't go to SA. It was just wonderful. I had a great time with Kristen and at the conference & siesta fiesta. Yes, we were all smiles.
Deeper Still is coming to OKC in Dec. 2009. We will all be there for sure! Maybe we can organize a little bit of blogger fun in our city!
Love ya so much! See you this evening.
Val
